There's tactics that fuck up the match engine and they're usually the tactics used when someone posts here showing how they havn't lost a game in 90 games or some shit.It used to be the Grid Formation, another example was the near corner exploit in fm12.This year it's been a three striker formation, 2 CMs and 2 wingers. The 2CMs are either BBM or RPM. You put it on attack or overload, pump ball into box, direct passing, whipped crosses and a few other things.Havn't used it myself but seen it here enough to know. Huh, that's the first time I've ever heard about the so called 'grid' formation. I was aware of the corners exploit, but I think that the situation might be a bit exaggerated, because on a save that I had with a weaker team, I think, I received about 35 goals from crosses and corner kicks even though I had a very solid measure against it. So, I think more than an actual exploit (though it suggests the same idea) it's perhaps something generally broken with the game itself, though I am unsure about that since I've been hearing so many people complain or pride themselves with how well they were doing because of it.I am uncertain on why SI wouldn't direct the issue either.
It seems to me like a pretty crucial thing to disregard. Are you saying that all formations with 3 strikers are potentially game-breaking though? Or just the one you described? Because I've played most of the games against weaker teams with a very aggressive 4-3-3 formation until establishing some sort of lead, which usually happened/happens quite quickly for me. The Grid Tactic is pretty old now, it was from 2012The Corner Exploit was real and was practically game breaking, but isn't anymore - anecdotally I won the World Cup with England in FM2012 with Ryan Shawcross getting the Golden Boot with 12 goals. The three striker formation is basically that your three strikers, along with a direct and attacking style overloads the penalty box and the AI defenders just can't cope with it.
You'll often see posts here with guys showing how they havn't lost in in-game years and they'll almost always be using a variation of a 3-striker formation - Here's an example from just 2 days ago (it happens weekly)That one is actually a variation of it as it's possession based, and yet you can still see the unrealistic (and game-breaking imo) outcome. I've been using 3 striker formations when needs must since 2013.I tested a 'plug-and-play' tactic there which won the Champs League with a mediocre team. Now I create my own when needed. I try not to use them but I've returned with Newcastle or I'd be getting sacked my team were that inconsistent. It's not really cheating when you make your own, as it doesn't always work. I got my ass kicked by Hull 5-1 because they played a back 5 and a long-ball to a quality target-man.Sadly it means my wingers are now pointless, and Eden Hazard is a central midfielder. Although, Gareth Bale is unstoppable if you run him as a striker. Like 8 goals in the past 3 games I've played him there, against City, Arsenal and Stoke IIRC.I love pre-contracts by the way.
Bale, Hazard and Pique. Much happiness. I mean you could try having a look at mine if you want but ultimately it's up to you and if you're happy with your 3 striker formation and enjoying the game then stick with it!Here's mineThis is for ALL home games and neutral venues (basically no exceptions), I also use it Away to teams in the lower half of the table and lower division sides. This is for Away games in Europe or against the top 8/10 in the league, as well as the away leg of the Capital Cup QF.They're pretty similar with the AM/DM switch, a few instruction changes and more defensive generally. Took me quite a few years in game to get it right. I use BBM and DLP for the two CMs regardless of who's playing. Wingers are either winger or inside forward depending on who's playing (I make sure all my wingers can play both sides naturally).Striker is eithe AF or CF, AM is either attack midfielder or AP, DM position depends on the player. Some of my players have good longshots etc so there's a few individual instructions.
I might try it when I finish this season. I kinda wish I knew how to make a classic variation of 4-4-2 somewhat viable as well, but it's been kinda impossible for me to achieve just that, which sucks considering how much I like it.Also, I am quite envious of your capacity to get up to season 2028-29 without losing motivation to keep playing. I usually play a single season per challenge. Like, if I don't get it right the first time, I start all over without making the mistakes I made during the first playthrough. Would you mind uploading your save file somewhere?
I am kinda curious as to what kinda staff you have, how LFC are doing, and other stuff like that. It'd be very cool of you.The second one is quite similar to my 'safer' tactic through.:PHave you tried having your striker as FN? It's given the best results for me so far.
With the current main strikers I have, that is, of course. Ballo, Lacazette and Sturridge. Course man, unfortunately I only have one non-regen (Vaclav Cerny). I actually started the save with Forrest but come 2020 Arsenal were consistently 6th/5th so I took the job and sorted shit out. Most of the current (2014/15) squad were pretty poor or gone.
I held onto Oxlade Chamberlain for a season or two. Aaron Ramsey was vice-captain to a pretty poor Wilshere (who I sold, it hurt, he's my favourite player), and Chambers was world class but playing at right back. I converted Chambers into a top-level CB and built my team around an ageing Aaron Ramsey and the rest is history - he captained us to multiple titles, champions leagues and broke David O'Leary's league appearance record.Ramsey retired about 3 years ago and I made him a youth coach, I sold Chambers as his wages were unreasonable high last season.
